A nail file hack was dubbed a "miracle" by beauty lovers on Twitter, after it appeared to show a nail file layer being peeled back to reveal a new fresh one.

The picture was shared by @HalfLuo on Twitter with the caption: "How old were you ladies when you learnt that you can peel the old layers off to reveal a new one?"
The nail hack – which came after the bubble wrap trend and teeth nail art frenzy –was shared over 5, 000 times and received over 10, 000 likes, with many hailing it a "miracle", while others claimed it had blown their minds.
However, you might not want to try it at home, as hundreds of social media users later admitted the revelation had ruined their nail files, which were not in fact peelable.

Sharing three nail files, all of which failed to have any layering underneath, one fan wrote: "Now I need to buy new ones."
